Free education, what does it mean? well it means a lot of things. First and foremost, for those whom cannot afford a decent education it "levels" the playing field. It means someone can pursue studies far away from a physical institution. Lastly it's FREE.
I am currently studying 4 Berkeley Music courses.

The world of music gaming
I have always been a connoisseur of music games. I have owned obscure Playstation games that have been created only to make music on. http://www.amazon.com/MTV-Music-Generator-Playstation/dp/B00001QER3. Never really a person to play too many "real" video games I was only ever interested in playing videogames that had a creative ingredient (ie: Mario paint). I was a sucker for the Rockband craze that flared up a couple of years ago; I was throughly impressed by The Beatles rockband version that came along as you could do triple harmonies.
In recent month I have been practicing my vocals on a iOS game by Smule called Sing! http://www.smule.com/sing Very cool indeed.
Yesterday I took the plunge with a Xbox 360 game called Rocksmith. Very cool game indeed. I play gigs regularly and I do get paid to play music, I can honestly say that this game will help me keep up with the guitar. I practice regularly and I work on structured materials to help me explore my guitar. This game is exactly the kind of game that will help some budding guitarist become good at their or some experienced guitarist keep up with their facility.

Composing.
Composing small pieces with rules. I would love to start a daily practice of composing small pieces for piano, violin, trumpet. No bigger than 4-12 bars. failing miserably would be my immediate outcome with the ultimate goal of getting better at it. Here's to a start..

Time away, time to get things in order.
I have spent a fair amount of time away from this blog. I don't care if anybody reads this but I'm going to post stuff here anyway. In the last two years I have distanced myself from my schooling. I would love to use this blog as a stepping stone to re-learn and re-apply what I have learned up until now.
Here are a couple of things I was working on in the last while.

The immortal Ludwig Van Beethoven
No other piece of music moves me as much as this one. The last piece he ever wrote was this (Besides the piano reduction of the same piece).
Wow who would of thought lucid dreaming was so attainable
I have heard that lucid dreaming can help you compose and do other fantastical things like flying. I'd really like to try this out.
Songwriting
I've always wanted to write songs, never being one to force one out, I do write them when they come. I would like to get better at it, but that comes with practice and feedback. Soundcloud is good for that kind of thing.

Dichotomos – SummerSchooling
Dikotomos – SummerSchooling
quite interesting when can happen when you do a vanity search, you find that your music is posted here and there on the net, without your permission. oh well, good promotion I guess.
DUBSPOT
DUBSPOT is a completely invaluable source of information. It's basically like going to school every day. There are enough videos and tutorials here to sharpen your skill and then some. Yes a fair amount of them require certain equipment/programs but there are other skills to acquire that are really useful. Here's another great tutorial.

Some good information can be found here about Soundcloud. Specifically on how to get more feedback/listens.

I have recently begun to post music from awhile back. I have taken a hiatus of several years. only very recently I have started to make music, in the immediate sense. Music that pleases myself, that doesn't need any thought.
I found the link listed above as an invaluable resource for getting some feed back on some of the last tracks I made around the time when I stopped making computer music.

My sole intention of having my own blog is to share information, I love learning. It so happens that you must search like a mad man when your looking for the right information. I hope that any of my info can be of help to others out there.
Being new to the blog scene I have new things to learn here and there. I'm up for the challenge.
